By Samara Grimshaw

WASHINGTON, Feb 09, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Disabled Veterans National Foundation ( www.dvnf.org ), a non-profit veterans service organization that focuses on helping men and women who serve and return home wounded or sick after defending our safety and our freedom, announced that Disabled Veterans National Foundation loves equine therapy delivered an estimated $132,000 worth of furniture, clothing and hygiene products to the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry ( www.abccm.org ). The Christian Ministry in Asheville operates a large homeless veterans restoration program for both men and women and programs that prepare veterans to re-enter the workforce.

The Christian Ministry is a family of Christian Congregations organized to provide individuals with an opportunity to grow, mature and express their faith. The group is providing services to area veterans who are homeless and in need of support and assistance.

"We take great pride in sending direct support with these goods that we know are helping veterans who want to improve their lives and are working hard to do so," said Raegan Rivers, Chief Administrative Officer of DVNF. "Around this great country, we are making these deliveries to organizations and groups who are compensating for the burden and providing our heroes with the daily help they need and deserve after serving our nation and then falling on hard times."

The shipments made by Disabled Veterans National Foundation included blankets, fleece jackets, furniture, clothing, hats, food, water, shoes and personal hygiene products. Already in 2012, DVNF has shipped close to $500,000 worth of supplies to groups and events in several states.
