The goal of this write-up is to underline these notable students and graduates in their relative areas including sport, showbiz and politics.

William Hewlett & Dave Packard

Hewlett Packard was founded in a garage by Stanford students William Hewlett and Dave Packard before moving to Silicon Valley. The proximity of Stanford and Silicon Valley is no coincidence. Why? Because Stanford graduate's has been so fundamental to its development and notoriety as a capital of world technology.

Both President's Herbert Hoover and John F. Kennedy attended Stanford. However, you may be surprised to learn while one graduated, another dropped out. Hoover actually claimed to be Stanford's first ever student, while Kennedy dropped out in 1942. Other notable students include former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Israeli and Japanese Prime Minister's Ehud Barak and Yukio Hatoyama.
