The History Of Brain Games Around The World

By Olga Wright

There is an old saying: if you rest, you rust. The human brain is just like a machine which will rust unless it is used regularly. There are many ways which we can use to keep our brain energetic, such as learning, dancing and doing exercises. But did you know that games can also have the same effect and that this has been proven by many scientists? Studies show that brain training games can boost your IQ and enable you to exercise your mental capabilities.

Nowadays brain games are also widely used in elementary schooling to teach children in a playful way. A teacher can use a wide variety of tools to teach mathematics and logical thinking patterns. Parents sometimes buy brain puzzle books for their children in the hope that their children will become smarter.

16th Century: Handbag history here shows that cloth bags with draw strings started being the handbag of choice. 18th Century: The 18th century was a turning point in handbag history as the bags were known as reticules. Women carried a different reticule for each outfit they wore, very similar to how women today do. Reticules were usually made from silk and velvet with a wrist strap.

19th Century: By the 19th century the handbag was actually called a handbag and as early as 1940 they were being constructed with metal frames and zippers. In fact, handbags were so popular in the middle of the century that famous designers like Channel and Louis Vuitton start designing and distributing their name brand handbags.

Today the handbag is also known as a purse, but handbag history tells that the original meaning of a purse was a bag for holding money. Men and women in early history had no way to carry coins except in a drawstring pouch called a purse. What started out to be merely a way to carry personal items has also become a fashion statement. And women today have many choices and styles when it comes to selecting a handbag.

If you made a mistake it required a lot of rubbing out (including the carbon copies), or starting all over again. Tippex was not invented until the 1950s and even then it was a powdery paper type of substance (not like the fluid we have now). But before you used it you had to still had to tub out the mistake on all of the carbon copies first. And then it still made a bit of a mess, so accuracy was paramount.

Handbag history has proven that women all over the world and through a lifetime of history will always be on the search for the perfect handbag. One thing is certainly true in all handbag history. You can never have too many handbags!
